Prayer to Scathach for Perseverance

I pray to You, Scathach, 
Teacher of Warriors,
Fierce, Mighty, and Bold.
I pray to You,
Goddess of the Isle of Skye,
Wise in Weaponry,
Mind as keen as an Eagle’s claw.
I pray to You, Warrior,
You Who are called ‘Shadow,”
You Who taught the great hero
Cú Chulainn the arts of strategy and combat,
You Who are ever unconquered.
Humbly I ask Your wisdom and Your teaching.
Tutor me, Mighty One, in perseverance.
Aid me in developing discipline,
Strength of character, and of will.
Help me to stay the course,
As You taught the Morrigan’s Hound
To stay the course,
Though I am not a hero
But only one who seeks to grow stronger
In heart, mind, and spirit.
Help me, I pray,
And ever will I honor You,
O Scathach.
